TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) project was founded in 2011 by the Swiss Animal Protection SAP, Marching Animal Welfare Trust, together with Pingyao County government, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province. The project controlled stray cats and dogs of the region over-breeding by the manner of trapping, neutering (do sterilize marker in their ear ), vaccinating and then returning all or most of them; while conducted research about the residents who raised dogs in the city, and supplied free vaccines, animal welfare science education and publicity, fundamentaly improved the welfare of stray cats and dogs in the ancient city of Pingyao, to ensure that local health security and social harmonious.
